Event Overview
The Peoria Jaycees' Firecracker 5000 is a Fourth of July 5K run. It takes place on July 4 in Downtown Peoria, Illinois, on Southwest Water Street. This is the event's 47th year. The event is part of the Peoria Holiday Race Series. ShaZam Racing provides timing and scoring.
Course Information
The race is a 3.1-mile flat course. It takes place on the Riverfront Trail. The start and finish are near the former Hooters Restaurant. There is one water station along the route. An optional color run is held after the main event.
Participant Information
The registration fee includes chip timing. Participants receive a shirt while supplies last. Refreshments include subs from Avanti's, donuts, snacks, and water. Participants aged 21 and over receive two beer tokens. A discount is offered for children aged 10 and under. Awards are given in various categories based on gun time and chip time.
Registration and Logistics
Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at RC Outfitters. Race-day pickup is from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM in the parking lot of the former Hooters Restaurant. The event proceeds rain or shine, and there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
