Peoria Jaycees' Firecracker 5000
Peoria Jaycees' Firecracker 5000 is a Fourth of July 5K held in downtown Peoria, Illinois. The event is in its 47th year and takes place on the Riverfront Trail near 418 Southwest Water Street.
The course is a 3.1 mile flat route along the riverfront with one water station. The route begins downtown and finishes near the former Hooters location. An optional color run takes place after the main event.
The registration fee includes chip timing, a shirt while supplies last, and refreshments. Refreshments include subs from Avanti's while supplies last, donuts, snacks, and water. Participants 21 and older receive two beer tokens. Children 10 and under register at half price. The event runs rain or shine and there are no refunds.
Packet pickup is available Thursday, July 3 at RC Outfitters from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on race day in the parking lot of the former Hooters from 6:30 am to 7:30 am. Packets may be picked up for friends and family.
Awards include overall top male and female and top master male and female 40 and over by gun time. Age group awards are top three males and females in the listed age divisions by chip time.
