Event Overview
The PennVet 5K is a running and walking event supporting the PennVet Class of 2029. The proceeds go towards the class's End of Core Event, a celebration marking their transition from classroom to clinical learning.
Events and Activities
The event features two activities:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 5 km (3.1-mile) race through Penn Park. It uses chipped timing, and results are posted immediately after the race.
- Mutt Strut: A 1.6 km (1-mile) walk for participants with their dogs. Pets are welcome for this activity but must be leashed and registered. They are not permitted on the 5K course.
Registration and Details
Registration for both events opens on March 11, 2026. The entry fee for the 5K is $40. The Mutt Strut costs $20.
For 5K participants, a free Dri-fit T-shirt in sizes XS–XXL is guaranteed for those who register on or before April 11, 2026. After that date, shirts are available while supplies last. Mutt Strut participants have the option to purchase the same shirts at a discounted price during online registration, subject to availability.
The race is professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing Co. Medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K. Post-race amenities include refreshments like water, juice, and coffee, as well as food items like bagels and donuts. There will also be photo opportunities.
Location
The event takes place at Picnic Grove in Penn Park, located at 3000 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
