24th Penn State College Day 5k - Dewey Beach
The 24th Penn State College Day 5k takes place in Dewey Beach, Delaware on July 25, 2026. It is part number 5 of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Series and is based at North Beach Restaurant, 125 McKinley Street on the bay. Participants are encouraged to wear college colors to be eligible for special prizes.
Race options include:
- 5K - Run / Walk; standard registration fee $33.70.
- Kiddie K - 1/10 mile; free for ages 8 and under.
A competitive walking 5K division is offered with the explicit rule that walkers must walk the entire race; running or jogging is not permitted in that division. The course is USATF certified and follows an out and back route through residential neighborhoods. Timing uses the MYLAPS BibTag chip system and most placings beyond overall are scored by chip (net) time while overall and masters top finisher awards use gun time.
On-site amenities include gender specific tech shirts, giveaway items, and a post race party with food and beer for those 21 and over. Parking is limited at North Beach with free meter and side street parking available until 10 am; event organizers request that gates at certain parking lots remain closed. No dogs are allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable and registrations are non-refundable.
