Event overview
The 14th Annual Penn Alexander School Run for Art & Science takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA (ZIP 19104). The event includes two course options:
- 5K Run
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5K course begins on Locust Street near the Penn Alexander School front entrance, proceeds along Locust Walk through the University of Pennsylvania campus to Penn Park, and returns to the Locust Street finish line. The 1-Mile Fun Run goes to the compass at 37th and Locust and back, with start and finish on Locust Street by the school playground.
Logistics and race features
Registration opens February 5, 2026. A flash sale is scheduled February 5–13, 2026. Early bird, regular, and day-of pricing windows are listed for February through May 31, 2026. At the time of listing, 1,000 spots were available for each event.
Packet pick-up is in the Penn Alexander School cafeteria on Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28 (morning and late-afternoon sessions). Race-day packet pick-up is available in the courtyard across from the front door.
Runners in the 5K are asked not to bring pets or strollers. Strollers are allowed for the 1-Mile Fun Run; pets are not permitted on the 1-mile course. Medals are handed to all 1-mile participants under 18 at the finish. 5K prizes are awarded by overall male and female winners and by age-group first places. Race shirts (purple) are available; a performance shirt option requires a fee and a registration deadline to guarantee sizing. Volunteers receive a yellow race shirt.
