14th Annual Penn Alexander School Run for Art & Science
The 14th Annual Penn Alexander School Run for Art & Science takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The event serves the community by offering two distinct participation options starting and finishing at the Penn Alexander School.
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5k Run
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5k course begins on Locust Street near the school's front entrance. The route guides participants through the Penn campus via Locust Walk to Penn Park before returning to the Locust Street finish line. For safety reasons, pets and strollers are not permitted on the 5k course. Individuals participating in this distance are asked to be off the course by 9:20 AM to allow for the subsequent event.
The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk is an out-and-back route that travels to the compass at 37th and Locust. The start and finish lines are located on Locust Street by the school playground. While strollers are welcome for the 1-Mile event, pets are not permitted.
Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers in the 5k, as well as winners in age groups ranging from 9 and under to 60 and over. For the 1-Mile Fun Run, all participants under the age of 18 receive medals upon crossing the finish line. Registration includes a cotton race shirt featuring a student-designed logo, with an option to upgrade to a performance fabric shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
