Event Details
The Pendle Witches event is a Halloween themed running day featuring two distances. It takes place on November 1st, 2026 at the Lancaster & Morecambe AC Clubhouse on Salt Ayre, with the postcode LA1 5JS. For 2026, the event will be held alongside the Lancaster Half Marathon.
The two events are:
- A 10 km race.
- A 1 mile Halloween Fun Run.
10 km Race
The 10 km has a new route for 2026. The course is described as fast and flat, going through the Lunesdale countryside. A medal is given to all finishers. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers. The event holds a UKA licence (number #28545).
Halloween Fun Run
The 1 mile Halloween Fun Run is a fancy dress event. There are no times or positions recorded. Children aged 6 and under can run but must be accompanied by an adult. Parents running with small children are not required to buy a race number but are not eligible for a medal. Adults participating in fancy dress without a child must enter the race. All finishers receive a witch themed medal, though medals for entries on the day are not guaranteed.
Entry Information
Entry fees vary. For online entry, 10 km prices are £21 for affiliated athletes, £23 for unaffiliated, and £17 for Lancaster Runner's Club members. The fun run is £8 for an individual or £25 for a family of four. Entries on the day are cash only and cost more. The organizers have a strict policy of no refunds, swaps, or deferrals.
