Pen Y Fan Challenge
The Pen Y Fan Challenge is a trail running event held on 26 July 2026 at Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. The event offers two measured routes that both reach the summit.

Registration opens on 27 July 2025 and closes on 20 July 2026. The minimum age to enter is 16. Entry fees vary by distance and membership status: UKA Member and Non Member fees are listed for both distances.
Entry includes a buff, a medal, chip timing, a National Trust contribution, and a signed, posted and marshalled route. Water and sweets are provided at the finish of the 5 mile route and at one checkpoint on the 13 mile route.
Compulsory kit differs by distance. For the 5 mile route participants must carry a mobile phone, hydration of at least 500 ml, a foil blanket or bivi bag, snacks, a basic first aid kit, a whistle, a windproof jacket and a reusable cup. For the 13 mile route participants must carry a mobile phone, hydration of at least 2 litres, a foil blanket or bivi bag, snacks, a basic first aid kit, a whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves and a reusable cup.
