Event overview
The Pen Y Fan Challenge is a trail running event on Sunday 26 July 2026 near postcode LD3 8NL. The routes include the summit of Pen Y Fan. The event is organized by OTT Events Limited and uses chip timing. A buff and a medal are included for entrants. The route is signed, posted and marshalled. Water and sweets are provided at the end of the 5 mile race and at one checkpoint on the 13 mile race. The minimum age is 16 or older.

Entries open 27 July 2025 and close 20 July 2026. Entry fees listed are: UKA Member 5 Miles £22.00, Non Member 5 Miles £24.00, UKA Member 13 Miles £30.00, Non Member 13 Miles £32.00. The entry list showed 7 participants at the time of publication.
Included in the entry price is a National Trust contribution fee, post race items, and chip timing. Compulsory kit for the 5 mile event includes a mobile phone, minimum 500 ml hydration, foil blanket or bivi bag, snacks, basic first aid kit, whistle, windproof jacket and a reusable cup. For the 13 mile event the kit includes a mobile phone, minimum 2 litres hydration, foil blanket or bivi bag, snacks, basic first aid kit, whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves and a reusable cup.
