Event overview

The Beast of Llangattock is a trail running event at Park Farm, Llangattock, Crickhowell, Powys on Saturday 22 August 2026. The course is fully marked and GPX files are provided. The event uses a mix of canal towpath, farm trails, open moorland, mountain trails along the Llangattock Escarpment and ancient woods, with sections above caves and views over the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

Course, checkpoints and terrain

The route includes steep climbs onto the escarpment, technical moorland sections and a steep technical descent into a valley with rivers and woodland. Checkpoints and energy zones are provided: the 10 km route has one light refreshment zone; the 20- and 32-mile routes have three refuel zones per loop. Checkpoints offer a range of food and drink, including vegan options, water, electrolytes and hot and cold refreshments.

Cut-offs, facilities and kit

Cut-off times are 4 hours for the 10 km and 10 mile distances, and 14 hours for the 20 and 32 mile distances. Facilities at the event include toilets, refreshments, a full medical team, physio and parking (paid). Mandatory kit is required and will be checked; items include waterproofs, race vest, capacity for 1 litre fluid, emergency food, map or GPX file, charged mobile phone, appropriate footwear, first aid items, foil blanket and a reusable cup.
