Event overview

The Beast of Llangattock is a trail running event organised by Limitless Trails on Saturday 22 August 2026. The event is based at Park Farm, Llangattock (Crickhowell, Powys) and features a marked course that uses sections of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal, fields, moorland, the Llangattock Escarpment and ancient woodlands. The route passes views of the Black Mountains, Sugar Loaf and the Brecon Beacons and runs above cave systems such as Craig y Cilau. Dogs are permitted on the 10 km route. The course is marked and features staffed checkpoints/refreshment stations with a range of foods and drink options, including vegan choices; the number of stations varies by distance. Facilities at HQ include toilets, a full medical team, physio (paid service), food vans and parking (£5). Parking tickets are entered into a ballot with one winning ticket awarded a free entry to a future event. Mandatory kit lists are enforced and include waterproofs, race vest/pack, base layer, capacity for 1 litre fluid, emergency food, map or GPX, charged mobile, first aid items, foil blanket and a reusable cup; additional items are required for ultra entrants.
