Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon
The Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon is a standard distance triathlon and an aquabike held at Broad Haven in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The event takes place on the beach and surrounding rural roads at the southern end of St Bride’s Bay. Entry is limited to 400 competitors and relay teams of two or three are welcome.
Distances:
- 1500m swim, 42k bike, 10k run
- 1500m swim, 42k bike (aquabike)
The open water swim is a rectangular sea course that does not go more than 200m from the shoreline. The bike course covers 42 kilometres with over 400 metres of climbing and uses mainly rural roads with some faster flat sections. The run begins with about 3 kilometres on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, gaining around 130 metres of ascent, then returns on quiet country lanes to a beachfront finish. The event is permitted by British Triathlon; competitors must be British Triathlon members with a Race Licence or purchase a Race Pass. The minimum age is 17 on 31 December 2027. The entry fee is inclusive of a Tyvek race number, a silicone swim hat, electronic chip timing, a finisher’s medal, prizes, and free electronic event photos.
There will be a road closure and temporary traffic management in Broad Haven on the day of the event, permitted by Pembrokeshire County Council. Volunteer roles include registration, swim start support, course marshalling, and finish line management; instructions and public liability insurance are provided.
