Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon
The Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon takes place at Broad Haven in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The event offers three entry formats: the standard distance triathlon, an Aquabike (swim and bike), or a relay team of two or three athletes.
Distances:
- 1.5K swim, open water on a rectangular course never more than 200m from shore
- 42K bike, mainly rural roads with over 400m of climbing
- 10K run, starting with about 3K on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and 130m of climbing
Sea temperature is typically 14-16°C on race day, so wetsuits are likely to be compulsory. There is a swim cut-off of one hour from an athlete's start time and competitors must start the run within three hours of their start time. The field is capped at 400 entrants. Minimum age is 17 on 31 December 2027.
Every entrant or relay team member requires British Triathlon membership or a Race Pass; overseas residents must show proof of third party liability insurance. The bike course runs on open roads where normal road rules apply. The event is permitted by British Triathlon and is run under British Triathlon competition rules. Medical cover is provided during the event.
Race services include Tyvek race numbers and stickers, a silicone swim cap, electronic timing, a finisher medal, category prizes and free electronic photos. Net proceeds support local triathlon development and the Support the Boardwalk fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
