Event overview
The PECO Cross Country League is a series of five cross country races organised in and around Leeds for clubs that are members of the League. Each race distance is approximately 4.5-5.0 miles and the season includes the five races, end-of-season relays and a League presentation evening. The event takes place at Middleton Park, Leeds, with Race HQ at The Dug Out Bar, John Charles Centre for Sport.
Entry, rules and numbers
Season tickets cost £17 and cover entry to all five races and the end-of-season events. Season tickets can only be purchased online and race numbers (with timing chip) are issued to entrants and must be kept for the whole season; replacement numbers for seniors are available at Race HQ for £3. Entry is limited to 2,000 participants (the entry list showed 1,217 remaining places). Entry rules require competitors to be paid-up members of a club affiliated to England Athletics at the time of the race; affiliated members of non-League clubs may run as guests, while unattached runners are not permitted. Minimum age is 16 on race day. Guest entries do not contribute to team scores and are not eligible for series points.
Course and facilities
The course is a single lap, undulating cross country route and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. There are no water stations, no distance markers, no showers and no baggage store. The Start/Finish is in The Clearings, Middleton Park, about a 10 minute walk from Registration.
