Peavine Peak Hill Climb
Peavine Peak Hill Climb is the third annual hill climb held in Reno, Nevada on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The course starts and finishes at Melton Elementary School, near 6575 Archimedes Ln, Reno.
The route is an out and back covering 9.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,018 ft. Runners begin on access roads and neighborhood trails for about half a mile before entering Chalk Canyon. The climb continues on singletrack for roughly 2 miles to an aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. From there the course follows a rocky ATV trail on Tower Ridge up to the summit of Peavine Peak. After crossing the summit the route descends about 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road to a second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon. The return follows the same canyon descent back to the elementary school.
Race day operations include packet pickup, a race start, expected first finishers, and a cutoff back at Melton Elementary School.
