Peavine Peak Hill Climb
Peavine Peak Hill Climb is scheduled for October 17, 2026 in Reno, Nevada. This is the third annual running of the event. The course starts at Melton Elementary School and covers a total of 9.4 miles with a reported total elevation gain of 3,018 ft.
The route begins with about half a mile on access roads and neighborhood trails before entering Chalk Canyon. Runners ascend Chalk Canyon on singletrack for approximately two miles to the first aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. From there the course continues with a steep ascent on a rocky ATV trail along Tower Ridge to the summit of Peavine Peak. After crossing the summit, the route descends about 2.4 miles on the dirt surface of Peavine Road to reach a second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon. The final section returns down the same canyon and back to Melton Elementary School.
