Peavine Peak Hill Climb
Peavine Peak Hill Climb is the third annual edition held in Reno, Nevada on October 17, 2026. The event is an out and back route of 9.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,018 ft. The course starts and finishes at Melton Elementary School.
Runners follow half a mile on access roads and neighborhood trails before reaching Chalk Canyon. The route ascends Chalk Canyon on singletrack for about 2 miles to an aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. From there the course turns onto a steep, rocky ATV trail on Tower Ridge and climbs to the summit of Peavine Peak. After the summit the route descends about 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road to a second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon. The descent from Chalk Canyon returns along the same trail and access roads back to Melton Elementary School.
Terrain types on the course include neighborhood trails, singletrack, rocky ATV trail, and dirt road. Aid stations are located near the Peavine Road intersection and at the top of Chalk Canyon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
