Peavine Peak Hill Climb
The Peavine Peak Hill Climb is the third annual edition of a hill climb run in Reno, Nevada, scheduled for October 17, 2026. The route begins and ends at Melton Elementary School, located at 6575 Archimedes Ln, Reno, NV 89523.
The course covers 9.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,018 ft. Runners follow half a mile of access roads and neighborhood trails to reach Chalk Canyon, then ascend Chalk Canyon on approximately 2 miles of singletrack to the first aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. From there the route continues with a very steep climb on a rocky ATV trail along Tower Ridge to the summit of Peavine Peak.
After the summit, the route descends about 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road to a second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon. The final section retraces the canyon descent back to Melton Elementary School. Terrain on the course includes access roads, neighborhood trails, singletrack, rocky ATV trail, and smooth dirt road surfaces. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
