Peavine Peak Hill Climb
Peavine Peak Hill Climb is a road and trail event in Reno, NV held on October 17, 2026. It is the third annual running of the event and covers a total of 9.4 miles with a reported total elevation gain of 3,018 ft. The course starts and finishes at Melton Elementary School.
Participants run about half a mile on access roads and neighborhood trails before entering Chalk Canyon. Runners ascend Chalk Canyon on singletrack for approximately 2 miles to the first aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. From there the route continues with a very steep climb on a rocky ATV trail on Tower Ridge to the summit of Peavine Peak. After crossing the summit the route descends about 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road to a second aid station located at the top of Chalk Canyon. The final section returns down Chalk Canyon and back to Melton Elementary School along the same approach used on the outbound portion.
