Journal Jog 8K is a community road race in Old Southwest Reno that finishes on the track at Reno High School. The event uses a flat 8K course that winds through scenic, historic neighborhoods before routing into the high school track.

- Junior Jog about 0.25 miles for ages 10 and under
The event includes a dedicated Stroller Run division, in which the same person must run with a stroller and child for the entire distance. Other participants join the main Run/Walk/Stroller-Walk division. A separate Junior Jog gives children a short, supervised run centered on the finish area.
Participants receive a unique finisher's medal, music at the finish, a finish line party with refreshments and vendors, a race bib with chip timing, and free professional photos from Jared Emerson Photography. A free 8 oz. smoothie at the finish is provided by Jamba Juice on W. 5th Street. Awards are made by Shadow Pine Woodworks; overall and age-group awards are presented, including recognition for female, male, and non-binary top finishers and age groups from 14 and under through 80 and over.
High quality technical race shirts are available for purchase until July 15 or while supplies last for $25. Pets are not allowed at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
