Event overview
The Dovedale Dipper is a trail running and challenge walking event in the Peak District National Park. It is based in the village of Hartington, with race headquarters at Hartington Village Hall on Hide Lane. The 2025 edition is scheduled for Saturday 2 August 2025. Routes explore the Dove and Manifold valleys and cross the Derbyshire-Staffordshire border using well-trodden paths.

Entries, kit and logistics
Entries are fee-based: £32 for UKA / TRA affiliated entrants or £34 unaffiliated. Participants receive full results, a finisher certificate, a detailed event guide, route GPX files, refreshments at aid stations and a hot meal at the finish. A technical t-shirt is available to purchase for £16.
Participants must be at least 18 years old. Checkpoints and interim cut-offs are applied and participants must check in at checkpoints to continue. Mandatory kit includes a whistle, emergency bivi bag or space blanket, magnetic compass, appropriate maps (1:25k preferred, 1:50k minimum), waterproof jacket with hood, emergency food (at least 400 calories), at least 0.5 litre carrying capacity for fluids, suitable footwear and a fully charged mobile phone in a waterproof cover. Event parking is provided about 400 metres from HQ; parking passes are required and attract a small charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
