Peak Raid Race 3 Eastern Moors
The Peak Raid Race 3 takes place at Eastern Moors and Burbage Valley in the Peak District. This fell running event uses a 3-hour score format, where participants select their own route to visit as many controls as possible within the time limit. The terrain includes moorland and valleys, requiring navigation skills and route choice.
Participants can compete as individuals or in pairs. The event is open to runners and walkers aged 14 and older. For pairs where one participant is under 18, the other must be a parent or guardian over 21. There are 15 competition categories based on age and gender, including senior, veteran (V40 to V70), and mixed pairs.
All participants must carry mandatory safety equipment:
- Waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams and integrated hood
- Hat and gloves
- Compass and whistle
- Survival bag (not a blanket)
- Emergency food
A waterproof map with control descriptions and point values is provided at the start. Points are awarded for each control visited, and penalties are applied for exceeding the three-hour time limit. The event uses SiTiming for tracking. Dogs are not permitted at the event due to landowner requirements and the protection of livestock and wildlife.
