Ken Bingley Memorial Race
The Ken Bingley Memorial Race is a memorial event held in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire. The competition serves as a tribute to Ken Bingley, a longtime member of the Wakefield Harriers and Ackworth Road Runners who was recognized for his local race participation and club age category records. Participants are invited to use the run as a way to remember and celebrate the lives of those they have lost.
All profits from the event are divided equally between the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The event features a single distance:
- 10 km
The course is described as a multi-terrain route with an undulating profile consisting of one lap. Participation is limited to 500 entrants. While the race is open to both affiliated and unaffiliated runners, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The race headquarters is located at the Frickley Athletic Football Club Pavilion at The Big Fellas Stadium. Facilities at the site include toilets and water stations, and distance markers are placed along the route. There are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage areas available on site. All participants receive a memento for finishing, and trophies are awarded to the first three male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
