Ken Bingley Memorial 10k
The Ken Bingley Memorial 10k takes place on Sunday 16th August 2026 in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire. The event commemorates the life of Ken Bingley and celebrates his long running involvement with Wakefield Harriers and Ackworth Road Runners. He was known on the local race circuit and at Pontefract Parkrun, set club age category records at all distances and was a regular at the London Marathon. The event is presented as a memorial and celebration for those who have been lost.
The race is a 10 kilometres multi terrain event with an undulating profile run over a single lap. Entry is limited to 500 runners and the race licence is listed as pending. The event is primarily a charity fundraiser; all profits will be divided equally between the MS Trust and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. All participants will receive a memento and trophies are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers.
Race headquarters are at Frickley Athletic Football Club Pavilion, The Big Fellas Stadium, Westfield Lane, South Elmsall, WF9 2EQ. Facilities listed include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry fees are shown as £18.00 for affiliated entrants and £20.00 for unaffiliated entrants; entry on the day is reported as available at no additional cost if the event does not sell out.
