Event
The PBR Half Marathon is an adventure run from Perry to Berkley to Rippey. It takes place annually on the first Saturday of February and coincides with the BRR Ride (Bike Ride to Rippey). The 2026 race day is listed as Saturday, February 7, 2026. Registration is free and must be completed online on or before race day; registration opens June 21, 2025. Merchandise will be available for purchase on race day: teeshirts $20, headbands $10, and stocking hats $25. Donations are optional and proceeds are split 50% to PD Walkers/Warriors for Parkinson’s Research and 50% to Cancer Research.
Course and logistics
The course uses all paved roads and is described as mostly flat with gradual hills. The starting location is at Perry Grand 3 Theatres (1312 2nd St, Perry, IA 50220) and the finish is at the Rippey COOP before crossing Highway 144. There is one aid station at the halfway point in Berkley. Support is minimal - participants are advised to carry food and drink or arrange a support cyclist. Finishers receive a handcrafted wooden medal, snacks, and a drink while supplies last; top finishers in each gender division receive a larger wooden medal. Timing is handled on the honor system, and participants are responsible for their own transportation between start and finish.
