PBR Half Marathon
The PBR Half Marathon is an Adventure half marathon that runs from Perry to Berkley to Rippey. It is held each year on the first Saturday of February. Registration is free and must be completed online on or before race day; online registration for the next edition opens June 21, 2026.
The course uses all paved roads and is mostly flat with gradual hills. There is one aid station at the halfway point in Berkley. The start location is in front of Perry Grand 3 Theatres at 1312 2nd St, Perry, IA 50220. The finish is at the Rippey COOP just before Highway 144.
This event provides minimal on-course support. Participants should carry their own food and drink or arrange for a support person to accompany them by bike. Clothing recommendations emphasize layers and wind protection because the route goes through exposed farm country. Runners should bring identification.
Merchandise will be available for sale on race day: teeshirts $20, headbands $10, stocking hats $25 (currently out of stock), and hoodies $40. Donations are optional; unspecified proceeds are split with 50% designated for PD Walkers and Warriors for Parkinson’s Research and 50% for cancer research. Checks are preferred on race day for donated amounts.
All finishers receive a handcrafted wooden medal, snacks, and a drink while supplies last. Top finishers in the men’s and women’s divisions receive a larger wooden medal. Timing is self-monitored on the honor system. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the start and finish locations.
