Event Overview

The Pawtuxet River 5k: Run of the Mills is a 5 km event that participants can walk, run, roll, or stroll. It takes place on a Saturday in early November, starting on Maple Road in Coventry, Rhode Island.

Course Details

The route travels along the banks of the Pawtuxet River on the Coventry Greenway, which is a rail trail also known as the Washington-Secondary bike path. It features three trestle bridges and views of the river and two mills. The course also passes through the Anthony Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The starting line is near Rice Memorial Field.

Event Details and Beneficiary

The event benefits the Pawtuxet River Authority and Watershed Council, a non-profit organization that has worked to protect the river and its watershed for over 50 years. Registration for the event opens in early March.

Awards are given to the top three overall finishers in the Male/Open and Female categories, with cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 for first, second, and third place, respectively. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
