About the race
Plainfield Salute the Troops 5K, Color Fun Run, & Soldier Stroll is a community race event on November 7, 2026, hosted by Plainfield Recreation at Plainfield High School, 105 Putnam Rd, Central Village, CT. Proceeds will be donated to the local VFW, American Legion, and Veteran's Coffeehouse.
The course begins and ends at Plainfield High School and passes the athletic fields, Shepard Hill Elementary, and a nearby neighborhood. Walkers will start behind runners.
Distances:
- 3.1 miles Salute the Troops 5K Run
- 1.3 miles Salute the Troops Color Fun Run
- 3.1 miles Salute the Troops Soldier Stroll
Each participant will receive a medal. Prizes are awarded to winners in each age division and a unique medal is given to the overall male and female with the best time.
Registration opens January 1, 2026, and closes November 7, 2026. Registration fees listed for each event are $30 for the 5K Run, $15 for the Color Fun Run, and $10 for the Soldier Stroll. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
