Plainfield Salute the Troops 5k, Fun Run, and Soldier Stroll
Plainfield Recreation presents a community running event on 11/07/2026 in Central Village, Connecticut. The event honors and supports military troops and veterans. Proceeds will be donated to the local VFW, American Legion, and Veteran's Coffeehouse. The start and finish are at Plainfield High School.
The event program includes multiple distances:
- Salute the Troops 5K Run: 3.1 Miles
- Salute the Troops Color Fun Run: 1.3 Miles
- Salute the Troops Soldier Stroll: 3.1 Miles
The course begins and ends at Plainfield High School and follows a route through the athletic fields, Shepard Hill Elementary, and a small neighborhood. Walkers are scheduled to start behind the runners.
Each participant receives a medal. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age division, and a unique medal is designated for the overall male and female best times. Registration opens on 01/01/2026 and closes on 11/07/2026. Published registration fees are $30.00 for the 5K, $15.00 for the Color Fun Run, and $10.00 for the Soldier Stroll.
