P.A.W.S. & Pals 5K 2026
The P.A.W.S. & Pals 5K is a fundraising 5-kilometer run/walk scheduled for May 9, 2026 at Depot Street Park, 251 Depot Street, Greenfield, Indiana. The event combines a community road event with fundraising to cover medical emergencies for surrendered and abandoned pets.
The event is organized by Partners for Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S. Hancock), an Indiana not-for-profit corporation whose programs are funded by donations, grants and fundraising events. Most rescue animals are housed in foster homes except for cats at the PetSmart Adoption Center in Greenfield and the organization’s cattery.
Entry details include a per person fee of $35 and free admission for dogs brought to the event. Online registration opens March 12, 2026 and closes May 8, 2026; in-person registration is available at the event. The organizer’s stated refund policy is no refunds.
Participants receive a medal, snacks and bottled water. Dogs receive a bandana, snacks and water; disposable dog bowls will be provided. Winners' medals and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each group: Men, Women and Pets. Timekeeping is conducted informally by volunteers using stopwatches.
