Event Details
This is the 37th annual running of the Paw Paw Grape Lake 5K Run/Walk. The event features two separate timed events: a 5K Run and a 5K Walk. The start line is on Lake Street near the Van Buren Community Mental Health Building at 801 Hazen Street in Paw Paw, Michigan. The course goes around Maple Lake and finishes on Willard Street.
Purpose & Information
The event aims to support mental health initiatives in the community. Proceeds benefit two organizations: United Christian Services of Eastern VBC and The Daily Recovery Zone.
Participants have the option to receive a tee shirt by registering before August 28, 2026. A limited number of shirts are available on race day. The event is officially endorsed by the Michigan Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
Timing uses a chip timing system for both the start and finish. Awards are based on chip time, not gun time. The top three male and female finishers in each age division receive a medal. Walkers may not run during the walk event, and runners seen doing so will be disqualified. Preliminary and official results are posted online.
Parking is available at several nearby lots, including the Van Buren Community Mental Health parking lot at 801 Hazen Street, the VBISD Transition Center at 811 Hazen Street, and the Tri-County Head Start lot at 775 Hazen Street.
