Event Overview
The Fire & Ice 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk takes place in Joplin, Missouri. This event is the second annual edition of the race and is designed specifically for dog lovers and their pets. Participants have the option to compete alongside their dogs in designated canicross categories or participate in standard running and walking events.
Distances and Categories
The event features several options for participants:
- 5K (Standard or with a dog)
- 1 Mile (Standard or with a dog)
- Virtual Option (Choose between 1 Mile or 5K)
Participant Guidelines
For safety reasons, children under 12 are not permitted to participate in the in-person categories. For those racing with a dog, there is a limit of one dog per human. Specific equipment rules apply to ensure the safety of all participants; flexi leads, e-collars, and shock collars are prohibited. GPS collars are permitted only if the e-collar feature is disabled.
Virtual Participation and Rewards
A virtual option is available for those unable to attend the event in person. This category is open to participants of all ages. Virtual runners can submit a photo of their completed distance to receive their materials by mail. All finishers of the in-person and virtual races receive a finisher ribbon.
