Event Details
The 2026 event will be the 44th edition of the Neosho Dogwood Run. It takes place annually in Neosho, Missouri, having been first held in 1983. The event includes three options: a 5K Dogwood Run, a 5K Virtual Dogwood Run, and a Walk & Shirt Only option.
The course is a clockwise loop that starts and finishes at Big Spring Park. It goes through streets that are described as rolling and are known for blooming dogwood and redbud trees in April.
Awards and Features
Instead of traditional medals, the first 100 finishers of the run receive a dogwood sapling. The top male and female finishers receive a large dogwood sapling. Age group awards are also presented, along with a special Delynn Kuhn Lifetime Achievement Award for the fastest older runner. A special event T-shirt is available as an optional item.
Proceeds from the event provide seed money for the Joplin RoadRunners club to support their multiple charity runs in the local area. All participants are invited to a free entry in the club's annual Prediction Walk/Run 5K on the Tin Cup trail in Joplin, held in August.
The organizers state the event is designed to be affordable to encourage family participation. Participants are welcome to bring dogs, strollers, or walkers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
