Freeman 5K & 1-Mile Walk for Autism

The Freeman 5K and 1-Mile Walk for Autism takes place in Joplin at the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism, 2808 S. Picher Ave, Joplin, MO 64804. The event includes a timed 5K and a one mile walk.

Registration options include adult and child walk entries with or without a participant t-shirt, a payroll deduct option, and a shirt only purchase. Standard 5K registration is listed at $35 and includes a T-shirt for registrations made by April 1. Walk pricing examples include adult walker with shirt $25, adult walker without shirt $15, child walker ages 3–12 with shirt $20, child walker ages 3–12 without shirt $10, and children 2 and under walk free. Prices increase by $5 per event beginning March 21. All payments are final and no refunds are offered.

Packet pickup is available at the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism on the Friday before the event and the morning of the event. All participants receive a finishers medal. Awards are given to the top overall male and female and first through third in each listed age category. Team recognition is provided for top Freeman teams by participation and top Autism teams by funds raised. The 5K uses chip timing and is listed as a USATF certified course.
