Event Overview
The Pat Griskus Olympic Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon take place at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury, Connecticut. This multi-sport event features several disciplines and is recognized as the USAT State of CT Age Group Championship. The Olympic distance also serves as the Rhode Island State Championship, while the Sprint Triathlon is designated as the USAT State of CT High School Championship.
Course Details
The swim portion of the event is held in the spring-fed waters of Lake Quassapaug. The cycling segments transition through New England farm country, followed by a run conducted on shaded back roads. Participants can choose from the following formats and distances:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1 mile swim, 24 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run.
- Olympic Duathlon: 2 mile run, 24 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run.
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Olympic Aquabike: Participation in the swim and bike portions only.
