17th Annual Parkland Pace or Race
The Parkland Pace or Race is a community running event held on August 22, 2026 at Washington High School in Tacoma, Washington. The primary race distance is a 5K on a USATF certified course described as flat and fast.
Registration opens April 13, 2026 and closes August 22, 2026. The standard registration fee is $15. Registrations are also accepted on the day of the event for an additional $5 charge.
Awards and recognition are given after the race. Medals are awarded to the overall first place male and female. Ribbons are given to the top three finishers in each gender and age group. Gift cards are raffled during the awards ceremony.
The event uses age groups in ten year increments and includes an open category for older participants. Age groups include 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Washington High School Cross Country program. Funds are used to purchase shoes and uniforms for local youth runners and to provide a college scholarship for a graduating senior. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
