About the race
Park Apocalypse - Zombie Run 2026 is an in-person themed trail event organized by Marshall County Conservation at Grimes Farm and Conservation Center in Marshalltown, IA on October 10, 2026.
The event features a spine-tingling themed 5K on trails through the farm where participants encounter volunteers acting as zombies. Runners wear flag football belts; participants who cross the finish line still holding one or more flags are recorded as survivors, while those without flags are recorded as infected. The event includes a participant packet and post‑race items.
Standard registration is $35 and includes a swag item, a finisher medal, a walking “dead” taco meal, a beverage described as a zombie antidote, and a zombie cookie. Medal, swag item, and meal are guaranteed only for the first 125 registered participants. Additional meal tickets are available for non-runners who want a meal. Day‑of registration is permitted if spaces remain; the day‑of registration fee is $45. Income from the event will be invested back into the trails at Grimes Farm.
The event is listed as in person with a stated duration of about three hours. Refunds are available up to three days before the event.
