Park 2 Park 5 Miler
The Park 2 Park 5 Miler is a road running event held in Fairview Park in Normal, Illinois on July 4, 2026. The main distance is a 5 mile run with an entry fee of $30. Registration opens February 1 and closes April 18, 2026. Members of the Lake Run Club receive a $3 discount. Springfield Road Runners and Starved Rock members receive a $1 discount. To guarantee a race shirt, registrants must register by June 18 at 12:00 noon.
The event has its origins in 1985 as the Intercity 10K. After two years the distance was changed to a 5 mile run. For several years the course ran slightly long; in 1993 the Lake Run club began organizing the event and made the 5 mile course accurate. The field has grown to approximately 500 runners.
Bib and shirt pickup requires completion of online registration. Early pickup is available on July 3 at 305 S Linden Street in Normal, and pickup is also offered at Fairview Park on race morning. No parking is available at Fairview Park; parking is available in the Illinois State University lot on Main Street just south of Fairview Park.
There are three water stations on course. Awards are given to overall male and female top finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over.
