Event Overview
The Palouse to Cascades Marathon+ Relay takes place in Kittitas County, Washington. Participants run along the historic Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail, which utilizes a former railroad corridor once used by the Milwaukee Road. The course features bridges, tunnels, and backcountry terrain while passing through natural landscapes and small towns.

The race starts at Kiwanis Park in Ellensburg. The first exchange occurs at the Kittitas Trailhead, with the second exchange returning to Kiwanis Park. The third and final exchange, which also serves as the finish line, is located at the Thorp Trailhead.
Rules and Requirements
A Washington State Discovery Pass is required for participants. The event enforces specific safety regulations, including a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs on the course. Support vehicles must adhere to size restrictions, with a maximum width of 80 inches and a maximum length of 20 feet; motorhomes, buses, and limousines are not permitted.
For safety reasons, dogs and bicycles are prohibited on the trail during the race. Participants must follow state laws and volunteer instructions, particularly where the trail crosses major highways.
