Palisades Park Triathlon/Duathlon : Alpine, NJ
The Palisades Park Triathlon/Duathlon takes place at the Alpine Boat Basin on the Hudson River in Bergen County, New Jersey. The event features an open water swim in the Hudson River; water temperature can be cool in June and wetsuits are allowed but not required. Lifeguards will be on duty during the swim.
The course uses the transition area by the Alpine Marina pavilion and an out-and-back bike route on Henry Hudson Drive. The bike route includes short, steep pitches and more than 300 feet of total elevation gain, with a turnaround near Dyckman Hill Road. The run is an out-and-back along Henry Hudson Drive that returns to the finish by the transition area and finish flags.
There are multiple race formats, including relay teams and an aquabike category. Registration is capped at 150 participants; the previous year had over 120 entrants. The event is not USAT certified or sanctioned and a USAT license is not required. Volunteer roles are needed on race morning; volunteers must sign out to receive race credit, and race credit is nontransferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
