Course, aid and logistics
Most of the courses run on moderately technical dirt trails, with twisty single-track climbs on the coastal foothills and Montara Mountain and some sections of fire road. Hiking or trekking poles are permitted. All races are chip timed using MyLaps and Race Director; disposable timing chips are attached to the back of each bib.
Inside Trail Racing operates cupless aid stations, so runners must carry their own water bottle or reusable cup; reusable cups are available for purchase at the event for $5. Aid stations provide a range of food and drink options such as energy gels, stroopwafels, trail mix, potatoes with salt, soda, water, and Skratch Labs hydration mix. Drop bag services are not available. Check-in and bib pickup occur on race morning at the South Walnut Grove Picnic Area. Awards include trophies for top three overall finishers and medals for finishers and age-group places. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
