Event Overview
The Pacific Coast Triathlon takes place at Crystal Cove State Beach in Laguna Beach. This multisport event features several race formats including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and a standalone beach and trail run. The course utilizes the Pacific Coast Highway and the trails within Crystal Cove State Park.
The swim portion is held in the Pacific Ocean at Crystal Cove State Beach with lifeguard support. The bike leg takes place on a fully closed, rolling course along the Pacific Coast Highway. Athletes in the triathlon and duathlon events then move to a run course that follows the Crystal Cove Trail and local paths, passing historic beach cottages and sections of sandy beach depending on the tide.
