About the race
The Pacific Coast Running Festival is a two-day running festival on the Long Beach Peninsula, Washington, held September 26 to 27, 2026. The event program features multiple race distances, a community expo, awards, and on-site hospitality around the start and finish area at the Long Beach Arch.
Race options span beach and paved courses and include:
- Sand Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Sunset 5K Sand Run
- Kids 1/2 mile dash
- Kids 1 mile dash
The Sand Marathon runs along the shoreline with at least two aid stations and a turnaround near Beard's Hollow, incorporating long beach sections and inland legs toward Ocean Park. The half marathon, 10K and 5K use paved peninsula bike paths and begin and end at the Long Beach Arch. The Sunset 5K follows shoreline terrain timed to evening light.
Awards are given to top finishers overall and by age group, plus masters and division categories. Special categories include Clydesdale and Athena divisions with specific eligibility rules. Participants who complete two or more events qualify for a special BEAST medal. The festival supports the South Pacific County Humane Society and local high school sports programs.
