The Sand Marathon starts on Bolstad at the beach edge, runs south to Beard’s Hollow, turns toward Ocean Park and returns to the finish. There are at least two aid stations on the sand course and finish-line festivities. The Sunset 5K runs along the shoreline. The Half Marathon, 10K and 5K use wide, paved bike paths that run parallel to the Pacific Ocean and start/finish at the Long Beach Arch. The Tour de Pacific is a non-competitive, supported bike tour that uses much of the Discovery Trail, visits downtown Ilwaco, and provides water, energy drink, fruit and bars plus post-ride snacks; standard road rules apply. Kids races are non-competitive dashes.
Packet pickup and registration are handled at the Long Beach Arch / Bolstad W on weekend race days. Awards include Top 3 male and female, Top Masters, and 1st–3rd in age groups from 9 and under through 90+. Clydesdale (men 220+ lbs) and Athena (women 165+ lbs) categories exclude age group awards. The event benefits the South Pacific County Humane Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
