Oyster Bay Brewing Company & Matthew Fetzer Foundation 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run
This community road event features a 5K run/walk and a separate kids fun run contained to the brewery parking lot. The start and finish are located in the back parking lot of Oyster Bay Brewing Company in Oyster Bay, NY. The 5K course leaves the parking area, follows local streets including Audrey Avenue, Shore Avenue, Larabee Avenue, South Street, Elise Street, White Street, East Main Street and McCouns Lane with a U-turn section before returning to the brewery parking area for the finish.
The event benefits the Matthew Fetzer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit for children with cancer. Attendees are invited to bring a new toy or a gift card for children battling cancer. Pre-registration for the 5K by April 18 includes a race t-shirt and one raffle ticket for a Grill Top Pizza Oven. Registered runners over 21 years old receive one complimentary beer.
On-site amenities include raffle drawings, awards, refreshments, beer and race t-shirts. Awards are presented to the top male and female overall and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups that range from 12 and under through 80 and over. Bib pickup is handled by event staff prior to the event and personalized race numbers may be available for those who register several weeks in advance.
