Oyster Bay Brewing Co & Matthew Fetzer Foundation 5K
This event is a community 5K run/walk with a separate kids fun run, held at the Oyster Bay Brewing Company parking area in Oyster Bay, NY. The event benefits the Matthew Fetzer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit for children with cancer. Donations of new toys or gift cards for children battling cancer are accepted.
Pre-registration by April 18 includes a race T-shirt and one raffle ticket for a Grill Top Pizza Oven. Registered participants over 21 receive one complimentary beer. Amenities listed for the event include raffles, awards, refreshments, beer, and a T-shirt.
BIB pickup is handled on race day; registrants who register more than 24 hours in advance will have their bib number sent by text or email prior to pickup. A Self Lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number.
The 5K course begins in the back parking lot of the brewery, follows local streets with U-turns on Larabee Avenue and McCouns Lane, and returns to the brewery parking lot for the finish. The kids fun run takes place entirely within the parking lot. The event includes overall and age-group awards: top 1 male and female overall, and top 3 male and female in age groups 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
