Oyster Bay Brewing Co & Matthew Fetzer Foundation 5K
This event features a 5K run/walk and a kids fun run hosted at the back parking lot of Oyster Bay Brewing Company in Oyster Bay, NY. The event proceeds benefit the Matthew Fetzer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit for children with cancer. Participants are invited to bring a new toy or a gift card for children receiving treatment.
The 5K course begins in the brewery parking lot, follows local streets including Audrey Avenue, Shore Avenue, Larabee Avenue, South Street, Elise Street, White Street, East Main Street and McCouns Lane, includes U-turns on Larabee and McCouns Lane, and returns to finish in the brewery parking lot. The kids fun run is contained to the parking lot. The event is planned rain or shine. Certain wheeled devices and animals are not permitted, including roller blades, skates, bicycles, baby joggers, strollers and pets.
Amenities listed for participants include raffles, awards, refreshments, beer and a t-shirt. Registered 5K entrants who preregister by April 18 will receive a t-shirt and one raffle ticket for a Grill Top Pizza Oven. Bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the event start time; a self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number.
