Owensville Watermelon 5K
The Owensville Watermelon 5K is an athletic event held in Owensville, Indiana. The activity takes place on an out and back course that starts and finishes at the intersection of Montgomery and Second Streets. This location is situated near the Owensville Community Center and directly in front of the Owensville Fire Department.
Participants can choose between two main formats:
- 5k run
- 5k run/walk
The event organizers provide pre-race bib pick-up during the Watermelon Festival on the Thursday and Friday evenings preceding the race. Registration is available online, with a guaranteed event T-shirt provided to those who register before July 7, 2026. For those who do not specify a size during early registration, a medium-sized shirt is assigned.
Awards are presented to the first and second-place finishers in various age categories. These categories include groups for children aged 3 to 5 and 6 to 9, as well as broader brackets ranging from 13 and under up to 80 and over.
