The Owensville Watermelon 5K is a community running event held on August 1, 2026 in Owensville, Indiana. The course is an out and back that begins and ends at Montgomery and Second Streets, located just down from the Owensville Community Center and in front of the Owensville Fire Department. Registration details are provided online with a fee of $25. Registration opens February 5, 2026 at 08:00 and closes July 7, 2026 at 00:59. Online registrations completed before July 7, 2026 are guaranteed a T shirt; if no size is given in pre registration, a medium will be provided. On site online race day registration is available for $25 with no T shirt guarantee.
Pre race bib pick up is available at the Watermelon Festival on Thursday and Friday evening prior to the race. The event offers a 5k run or run walk and awards first place in multiple age groups, including separate kids categories for ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 9, followed by standard age group bands through 80 and over.
