Owensboro YMCA BBQ 5K
The Owensboro YMCA BBQ 5K takes place on May 9, 2026 in downtown Owensboro at 311 West Veterans Boulevard. The event includes two entry options: a 5K with chip timing and a 5K no timing non competitive option.
Registration opens February 1, 2026. Standard pricing is $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 1 to 18; day of race registration is $40 and a race shirt cannot be guaranteed for day-of entries. T-shirts are provided for registrations received by April 26.
Bag pickup is available Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8 from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm at the Owensboro Family YMCA, 900 KY Parkway, Owensboro. Race day bag pickup is available at the race location from 7:00 am to 7:45 am.
Awards include a $100 prize for the top male and top female and medals for the top three finishers in each age group. Age groups are 1-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99. The 5K is held in conjunction with the BBQ & Barrels festival, which begins at noon on Friday, May 8 and continues on Saturday, May 9.
