Over the River and Through the Woods 5k/10K and Morning Fest
The Over the River and Through the Woods event takes place in Montezuma, Indiana. This annual athletic event offers two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5k run or walk
- 10K run or walk
The courses for both distances utilize the local trail system and Reeder Park. Participants and spectators can attend the Morning Fest held alongside the races from 9:00 am until noon. This community festival includes a variety of activities such as a food truck, a farmers market, and a vendor fair. There are also specific activities designed for children, including face painting.
Registration includes several amenities for those taking part in the races. Participants receive a race t-shirt, provided they register by September 21st. The event features live results and an awards ceremony following the conclusion of the races.
The gathering is designed to be inclusive of families and different types of participants. Children aged five and under may join the event at no cost, though they do not receive a timing bib or t-shirt. The event also permits the use of strollers on the course and allows participants to bring friendly, leashed dogs.
