Event
The Vermillion Trails Alliance is the host of the fourth annual VICTORY RACES, held on April 11, 2026, at Vermillion Rise Mega Park in Hillsdale, IN (1051 W Indiana Ave, 47854). The event includes the following distances:
- Marathon - USATF certified; full marathon is a two-lap course.
- Half Marathon - single loop; four water/aid stations approximately every 2.5 - 3 miles.
- 5k - single loop; water/aid station about halfway.
All finishers receive a medal. The marathon course is listed as a Boston Marathon qualifier. Discounts are noted for veterans and for Vermillion and Parke County students and staff.
Course and logistics
Races take place on paved roads inside a former military munitions compound. Course features and remnants on site include outposts, TNT manufacturing buildings, VX nerve gas storage facilities, and former military shooting ranges. The full marathon uses two laps of the certified course; the half marathon and 5k each use a single loop.
Aid stations supply water, Gatorade, orange slices, and granola bar chunks. The half marathon has one port-o-potty near mile 7; the full marathon passes this stop on laps at about miles 7 and 20. Additional port-o-potties are available at the finish area. Athletes enter the venue through the south gate at E. County Road 300 S and State Road 63 (GPS 39.838072, -87.410894); volunteers will direct parking and packet pickup at the main 7700 Building (GPS 39.834884, -87.431209).
