Over the Hill Track Club Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
The Over the Hill Track Club Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is a community running event held on Thanksgiving Day in Ridgecrest, California. The event takes place at the Cerro Coso College gym parking lot at 3000 South College Heights Boulevard.
Two events are offered:
- 5K run/walk on a measured 5-kilometer course
- 400 m kids' fun run before the main event
There is no registration fee; a suggested $5 donation is requested and donations are accepted online and at the event. All proceeds benefit the Burroughs (Ridgecrest) High School boys and girls cross country programs.
Traditional turkey-themed awards are presented to the top male and female runners. The first 50 finishers receive medals. Raffle items are available, donated by local merchants.
Water will be provided at the finish, and some snacks may be available if donated. Registration and donations can be completed online or in person on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
