Outlast Nashville
Outlast Nashville at Long Hunter State Park in Hermitage, Tennessee is a trail endurance event held on November 14, 2026. The event offers timed multi-hour formats where participants run repeated 5K laps on a looped trail course.
The format includes two options: a six hour challenge and a twelve hour challenge. Runners must complete a 5K every hour, on the hour; each lap must be finished within the hour to remain in the event. If a runner finishes a lap early they rest until the start of the next hour. Missing a lap results in elimination from further laps.
The courses are trail-based with natural terrain, elevation changes, and occasionally some pavement or gravel. Aid is provided at the basecamp/loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event and participants are expected to carry their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a personal tent or aid station at the site.
Recognition and awards are tiered by laps completed: completing four laps earns a “Grit Earned” patch, five laps earns a “Survivor” patch, six laps earns a premium 6-inch OUTLAST medal, and twelve laps earns a premium 12-inch OUTLAST medal. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. Top combined 5K times by male and female finishers receive local awards and ranking on a national leaderboard, with a $1,000 prize for the fastest 6-hour finisher across the tour. Top city champions earn championship qualification and cash prizes at the Outlast Championship in DFW. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
