IRON GRIDDLE - Percy Warner Park
The IRON GRIDDLE is a trail running event at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, Tennessee. It is presented by Sasquatchalope Trail Running and HardWin Adventures and aims to raise funds and awareness for trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and tree planting in the park.
Distances offered:
- 50K: traverse Red, White, and Blue loops, 5,175 ft elevation gain.
- Trail Half: Hidden Owl half marathon, over 2,400 ft elevation gain.
- 6 Mile: Moss Monster loop, about 1,060 ft elevation gain.
Course highlights for the 50K include an initial counter clockwise traversal of the Blue, White, and Red loops, followed by a reversed second half that returns via the Steeplechase area. The 50K route includes features such as the Belle Meade stairs, Doom Hill, and the Deep Well Trailhead. Aid stations are placed at several mile markers on the 50K course, including The Chimney, Deep Well, and The Nature Center.
The Trail Half follows the Red, White, and Blue loops in a counter clockwise direction with notable features like The Stairs and aid at The Chimney and The Nature Center. The Moss Monster Six follows the Mossy Ridge red loop with one aid station at The Chimney.
The start/finish is at the Gaucho Road Trailhead, 2628 Old Hickory Blvd, adjacent to the Steeplechase horse track. The event does not offer refunds; bib transfers and distance category changes are permitted until March 23. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
