OUTLAST CLEVELAND
OUTLAST is a 6 hour trail endurance challenge in which participants run a 5K every hour on the hour for up to six rounds. Each lap must be completed within the hour to continue; finishing early provides rest time until the next round, and missing a lap removes a participant from the event. The format emphasizes consistent pacing and discipline.
The event takes place in Garrettsville, Ohio, at 10321 Silica Sand Rd. Courses are trail based with natural terrain, elevation changes, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel.
Timing and results are managed per lap: each 5K is timed individually and a competitor who completes all six laps has a combined time that counts toward local awards and the world leaderboard. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6 hour events is named World Champion and receives a $1,000 cash prize. The top five male and female 6 hour finishers from each city earn a spot in the Outlast World Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027, where separate cash prizes are awarded for first through third place.
Participant recognition includes a “Grit Earned” patch for four laps, a “Survivor” patch for five laps, and a premium OUTLAST 6 inch medal for six laps. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. Aid is available at the basecamp or loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks; this is a cupless event so participants should bring their own bottle or hydration system.
