Event overview
The Ouray Mountain Trail Run is a 13-mile trail race in Ouray, Colorado. The course starts and finishes at Fellin Park in Ouray. The event is a fundraiser for the Ouray School, hosted by the school's Parent and Teacher Organization and the high school Outdoor Education class. Proceeds support student educational trips to places such as Moab, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Mexico. Ouray County students and school staff may participate for free; they must contact the organizers to register.
Logistics and policies
Packet pickup is available at Fellin Park on the Friday before the race (evening) and on the morning of the race; organizers encourage Friday pickup. There are no day-of registrations. The race will attempt to be cupless: there are three water stations with limited cups, so participants are asked to carry their own water. A first aid station is located at 5 miles, and the second aid station is at approximately 7 miles; all runners must reach the second station within 3 hours. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable, including if the race is canceled for weather, governmental reasons, or a pandemic. Outdoor Research t-shirts will be provided, but requested sizes are not guaranteed after August 1, 2025. Registration closes Wed, Sep 16.
