Ouray Mountain Trail Run - September 19, 2026
The Ouray Mountain Trail Run is a 13-mile mountain race in Ouray, Colorado. The course starts and finishes at Fellin Park and is organized as a fundraiser for the Ouray School by the school's Parent and Teacher Organization and the high school Outdoor Education class. Funds support student trips to locations such as Moab, Denver, Washington DC and Mexico.
Packet pickup is available at Fellin Park on Friday, September 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and on race day before the event from 6:30 to 7:15 AM. There are no day-of registrations. Registration closes on Wednesday, September 16 at 11:59 PM MT. The published entry fee is $98.12; the fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable, including if the event is canceled due to weather, governmental reasons, or pandemic.
The event aims to be cupless. There will be three water stations with limited cups; participants are expected to carry their own water. A first aid station is located about 5 miles into the course and the second aid station is at approximately 7 miles; all runners must reach the second aid station within three hours. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers.
Ouray County students and school staff may participate for free by contacting the organizers to receive a coupon code. An optional Outdoor Research athletic t-shirt is available for registrants; shirt size availability is guaranteed only for registrations completed before August 1. Race shirts are not included for free student entries but may be purchased for $20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
