Event
The Ouray Mountain Trail Run is a mountain trail race in Ouray, Colorado. The course is 13-mile and the event starts and finishes at Fellin Park. The race is a fundraiser for the Ouray School, hosted by the school's Parent and Teacher Organization and the high school Outdoor Education class. Funds support student trips to places such as Moab, Denver, Washington DC and Mexico.
Race details and logistics
Packet pickup is at Fellin Park the evening before the race (5:30-7:30 PM) and on race morning (6:30-7:15 AM). There are no day-of registrations. The event plans to be cupless; there will be three water stations with limited cups, so participants should carry their own water. A first aid station is located about 5 miles into the course. The second aid station is at approximately 7 miles, and all runners must reach that station within 3 hours. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers.
Entry and policies
Registration closes on Wed, Sep 16. Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable, including if the race is canceled for weather, governmental reasons, or a pandemic. Outdoor Research t-shirts will be provided to runners, but requested sizes are not guaranteed after Aug 1, 2025. Ouray County students and school staff may participate for free and must contact the organizers to register. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
