Otley 10M
The Otley 10 is a long-standing road race in West Yorkshire, now in its 41st year. The event takes place on a summer evening and follows an undulating 10-mile course through the local area, starting and finishing near the town of Otley. The race is open to individual runners and club teams, with a total entry limit of 450 participants.
The event follows a single-lap format on road surfaces. Due to daylight considerations, a course cut-off time of 2 hours and 15 minutes is in place, which requires participants to reach the 6-mile mark within 80 minutes. The route includes distance markers and water stations located at the start, approximately 3.5 miles, 6.5 miles, and at the finish line.
Race headquarters are located at the Otley Cricket Club. Facilities available for participants include changing areas, showers, a baggage store, and both static and portable toilets provided by the cricket and rugby clubs. While there is no parking directly at the cricket club, a signposted car park is located a two-minute walk from the venue.
Following the race, the venue hosts a barbecue, a coffee bar, and a licensed bar with a backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales. A prize-giving ceremony featuring vouchers for top performers takes place later in the evening. Spectators are permitted at the finish area to support the participants.
