Ghost 'n Goblin 5k
Ghost 'n Goblin is a 5k road race presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club and held at Sinclair Community College, located at 5800 Clyo Road in Centerville, Ohio. The event donates part of its proceeds to local school running programs through a Youth Running Challenge. When registering, participants select a Dayton area school district; three finishers are selected at random and the schools they chose may receive up to $500 each. A fourth donation is planned for the school or group with the most volunteers.
Packet pickup takes place at Sinclair Community College the day of the event. Shirt sizes and guaranteed availability apply to registrations received by October 14. Adult shirts are offered XS through 4XL and youth shirts through Youth XS to Youth XL. All registrants receive GNG logo bib fasteners at packet pickup.
Event features include a costume contest held shortly before the race, post race pizza and snacks, and a large raffle with donated prizes. Awards include top three overall male and female and age group awards with embroidered beanies for age group winners. The race uses three wave starts with chip timing. Race rules note that jogging strollers are discouraged, only service dogs are allowed, headphones are strongly discouraged, and bib chips must remain attached for official results.
