Event overview
The ORRRC Frostbite 5 Miler takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Dayton, OH (Centerville High School, 500 E. Franklin St., Dayton 45458). The event is organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, a 100% all-volunteer 501(c)(3) Ohio non-profit club that runs a series of smaller community races.
Distances and format
- 5 mile run (chip-timed)
- 4 mile walk (non-competitive, not timed)
The event is described as a "small race": current ORRRC members have no entry fee, non-members age 15 and up pay $10, and participants age 14 and under enter free. Chip timing is provided for the run. Registration is handled through RunSignup, with race day registration and paper registration sheets available as needed. Minors must be registered by a parent or guardian and have a signed liability waiver.
Course and logistics
The course begins at Centerville High School, proceeds through the residential neighborhood southwest of the school, and returns to finish behind the high school. The 4-mile walk excludes a 1-mile Cable Court loop in the third mile and continues straight to Gracewood Drive. Parking is at Centerville High School. Participants should collect timing chips at the registration area on race day.
Awards and volunteers
Awards are presented in the high school gym and include overall and age-based categories for multiple age groups. Volunteers assist with event operations; volunteer sign-up is available through the event's volunteer options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
