Event overview
The Oro Valley Triathlon and Duathlon Festival takes place on March 14, 2026 in Oro Valley, Arizona. Events offered include Intermediate Triathlon, Intermediate Triathlon Relay, Sprint Triathlon (including Athena and Clydesdale categories), Sprint Triathlon Relay, Sprint Aquabike, Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Duathlon Relay, and a Beginner (non-competitive) Triathlon. Minors under 18 are not accepted due to USA Triathlon requirements. The event is USAT sanctioned.
Course and race operations
The swim is held at the Oro Valley Aquatics Center in a long-course pool with serpentine swim format. The bike course is coned off from traffic with one dedicated car lane and a bike lane; the course includes downhills and short uphills. The run course is described as flat; duathletes complete one run loop before the bike and two loops after the bike. Transition areas are in the parking lot east of the pool. Athletes must mount and dismount at marked lines and wear a Consumer Product Safety Commission approved helmet with the chin strap fastened before mounting and until the bike is racked. Electronic devices such as MP3 players and cell phones are not allowed on course; timing devices from Garmin, Polar, and Timex are permitted. Participants must stay to the right of cones and follow Oro Valley Police Department instructions; drafting and other USAT rule violations can result in disqualification.
Entries, timing and awards
No refunds are offered; entries may be deferred up to one year under a sliding-scale policy. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations by February 15, 2026. Timing chips and bibs are required for official timing. Overall and age-group awards are planned for specified categories; awards will not be mailed and may be picked up locally after the event. Parking is available near the Aquatics Center and nearby lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
