Orion Veterans Memorial Day Run
The Orion Veterans Memorial Day Run is an annual Memorial Day event held in Lake Orion to honor veterans and the local community. The event starts and finishes on Anderson Street adjacent to the Children’s Park parking lot. All participants who complete their race receive a finisher medal.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run/Walk)
- 5 Miles (5 Mile Run)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual option)
Registration for the events opens in December 2025 and closes on February 14, 2026. Standard registration fees are listed at twenty dollars, with a reduced fee of fifteen dollars for the military categories for active or retired service members. Packet pickup and registration are scheduled the day before the race at Hanson’s Running Shop, corner of Flint and Broadway. Event shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by May 1. A virtual race option is available for those who wish to support the event but cannot participate in person. All event proceeds benefit the long-term sustainability of the Orion Veterans Memorial.
