Oriflamme 50K
Oriflamme 50K on April 10 2027 is an out and back trail race that starts at Sunrise Trailhead and follows the Pacific Crest Trail north. The route leads onto Mason Valley Truck Trail and then descends by approximately 2,000 feet into the desert via Oriflamme Canyon. At the canyon base the course turns onto the California Riding and Hiking Trail, crosses S2, and proceeds through Box Canyon into Blair Valley for the turnaround.
The footing varies from single track and rolling terrain in the upper sections to soft sandy and rocky desert track on the lower sections. The return follows the same route with a prolonged climb out of Oriflamme Canyon and a final stretch on the Pacific Crest Trail back to Sunrise Trailhead. The race has a nine hour time limit and a 150 runner cap. All entrants receive a technical t shirt and finishers receive medals.
Aid stations are provided along the course and are stocked with water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit, salty snacks, sweets, drinks and other assorted foods. Packet pickup is available at the Milestone Running North Park location during business hours. The race is a qualifying event for the SoCal Ultra Series.
