Orienteering Ottawa - Kanata Lakes
This orienteering meet takes place on November 8, 2026 at the Kanata Lakes (Richcraft Centre) map, which has been recently remapped. The event offers courses for novice, intermediate and advanced orienteers and navigators.
Participants who have not attended before must provide contact information and sign a waiver. Personal information can be submitted in advance to be uploaded to the on-site database; this must be completed 48 hours before the event. There is no charge when submitting information in advance; final registration and payment occur on-site the day of the meet.
The public map initially shows the general area of the event; in the week before the meet the map will be updated with the exact meeting point and additional meet details. Courses close and controls are collected in the afternoon; all participants must report to the finish by the stated course closure.
A 15-minute Mini Intro to Orienteering clinic is offered before the starts to cover event procedures, safety information and basic map reading and navigation. Participants are asked to register before attending the clinic so they have a map in hand.
Attendees are asked to bring personal water bottles; organisers will limit disposable cups. A clean map bag may be dropped into the designated recycle box. Participants are reminded to perform a careful tick check after returning from the course. After the run, courses can be uploaded to Livelox for comparison and learning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
