Open to Offas

The Open to Offas is a long-established challenge event in Northeast Wales. It offers three route options: 32 miles (52 km), 24 miles, and 16 miles. All routes start from Cilcain Village Hall in Flintshire.

The routes ascend the Clwydian Hills to follow the Offa's Dyke Path, traversing Moel Famau. The return journey is through wooded countryside, with the longer routes extending over Moel Fenlli towards Llanarmon-yn-Ial. The event welcomes both walkers and runners.

Participants are expected to carry a map (Explorer 265 or Landranger 116) or an electronic equivalent. The entry fee includes a detailed route description, refreshments at checkpoints and the finish, and a certificate. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead, though they are not permitted inside Cilcain Village Hall. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
