OPEF Trick or Trot
The OPEF Trick or Trot is a community running event held at Silver Lake Intermediate School in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Organized by the Oconomowoc Public Education Foundation, the event serves as a fundraiser to support the Oconomowoc Area School District. Funds raised are directed toward projects such as new gymnastics equipment for elementary schools and sound system enhancements at the middle school level.
Participants can choose between two non-competitive distances:
- 1 Mile
- 2 Mile
The event takes place after school and features a festive atmosphere with music and candy. Participants are encouraged to wear event shirts, school-branded apparel, or Halloween costumes. Prizes are awarded during the activities.
Since its inception, the foundation has contributed over $500,000 to local schools to fund educational opportunities, classroom grants, and facility improvements that fall outside the core district budget. The run provides a way for the community to contribute to these ongoing educational and curriculum initiatives. Registration for these distances is open to the public through the designated signup period in October. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
